The gift of hope

I relocated back to Singapore in 2012 and one of the first things I did was to sign up to be a volunteer at Voices for Animals.

Over the past 12 years I’ve volunteered in various capacities - cleaning the shelter, feeding and grooming the dogs, going on rescue missions to save retired breeding dogs, organising donations and fund-raising events, facilitating dog profile photoshoots and counselling at adoption drives as well as fostering palliative and special needs dogs.

One thing I can say for sure is, the job of a rescuer is never done, and the concern of how to meet the demands of ever-mounting medical bills is persistent.

In the spirit of the upcoming Christmas season, I will be hosting 4 Christmas Charity Restorative Yoga classes. My share of the proceeds will be donated to Voices for Animals (T14SS0132G).

It is often said that experiences are more meaningful than material gifts, and my hope is that you will consider gifting a restorative practice to a cherished friend or loved one who might be in need of some head space, an outlet to release tension, or a life-changing practice.
